Jennifer’s reputation precedes her and her star quality is known all over New Brunswick. Her name is a household name for all things separation or divorce.
From the mighty Miramichi, Jennifer relocated to Fredericton in 2001 to attend law school at the University of New Brunswick. After being called to the Bar in 2005, Jennifer became a partner in 2007 at the young age of 27.
From there, Jennifer went on to do amazing things in her career and her list of accomplishments and awards are endless. Her most recent being a national nomination for a Women of Influence Award in the category of Trail Blazer!
Jennifer is primarily known for her excellent courtroom skills and representing her clients with a fierce and focused style. She is a fighter.
Time with Jennifer quickly reveals her abundance of confidence and experience. After 19 years of practicing family law litigation, Jennifer’s knowledge of how to position her clients’ cases for optimum results is priceless.
The public would be hard pressed not to know that on January 2, 2019, Jennifer embarked on her own journey by opening up her boutique law firm, J. Donovan Law Group. The firm has been growing in leaps and bounds over the last five years with Jennifer hiring six associates, opening an office in Miramichi on July 20, 2021, a 3rd location in Saint Andrews in July 2023 and adding immigration to JDLG’s list of practice areas and fully bilingual legal services. Out of the six lawyers, four of them are fully bilingual.
Also over the past year, Jennifer decided to tailor her top level courtroom skills to the boardroom by receiving mediation training in Toronto. She had recognized a hole in her practice by having to turn away worthy potential clients who sought her skills for mediation when she was not trained as a mediator. In typical Jennifer fashion, she fixed that problem by seeking superior mediation training and now since February, she has been offering mediation services to the public!
Outside of the courtroom, Jennifer also spends countless hours supporting local businesses, donating significant sums of money to charities and other non profit organizations, doing pro bono work, mentoring women, volunteering and most importantly, being a mother to her beloved boys.
This Irish lass has a huge heart and is down to earth. Her smile, accent and laugh quickly help people feel at ease around her. She cares about people and providing excellence and superior quality representation to all.
